Barrel Electroplating Loose Parts
Barrel Electroplating Loose Parts with fast, efficient accurate results.
Barrel Electroplating Loose Parts for industrial performance enhancement is a mainstay business at Summit Plating. That’s because we have perfected the process of Barrel Plating large quantities of durable loose metal parts with speed, consistent coverage, spec-meeting accuracy, and cost-efficiency. We deliver these advantages while electroplating with Gold, Silver, Palladium Nickel, and other performance-improving metal coatings.
With Barrel Electroplating, individual , durable metal components are placed in a cylindrical barrel made of a cage-like mesh. The barrel is then immersed in a plating tank containing a plating bath solution and strategically placed electrical anodes. Once immersed, the barrel is gently rotated, causing the parts within to tumbled through the solution. This tumbling motion of parts in the plating bath ensures even distribution of the plating chemistry on every part, and also across all surfaces areas of each part.
Purposely Electroplating Loose Parts with “tight” surface deposit control.
It is not “by accident or luck” that our Barrel Electroplating delivers such exacting control of surface deposits on durable loose parts. Summit’s decades of barrel plating experience bring a deep understanding of how plating chemistry, electrical strength, tumble agitation time, and tumbling speed all affect final plating outcome. We produce intended and consistent coverage results by carefully controlling all these variables—even with large quantity programs requiring multiple plating cycles.
Quality Assurance at every phase of a Barrel Electroplating project.
Our stellar Barrel Electroplating results are always validated through an integrated Quality Assurance Program. Designed and managed through our dedicated R&D Lab and integrated QA Department, this program monitors, measures, confirms, and documents plating quality throughout every step of a barrel plating project cycle.
Barrel Electroplating advantages:
- High-Volume Electroplating: Barrel plating allows us to process a large number of smaller parts simultaneously, resulting in more parts being plated with in set time frame.
- Cost-Savings: Barrel Plating requires less equipment, less manufacturing space, and less manpower compared to more complicated methods like loose part Rack Plating. This yields a lower cost to us, which in turn we pass on to our customers.
- Time Efficiency: The entire plating process, including cleaning, rinsing, pickling, and sealing, can often be performed within the same barrel, minimizing handling and transfer to improve overall plating-time efficiency.
- Uniform Plating Finish: The tumbling action of the parts within the rotating barrel, combined with the electrical current passed between the pieces, eliminates stratification and produces a more uniform plating finish compared to other methods like Rack Electroplating.
Why Barrel Electroplate Parts at Summit?
Because Barrel electroplating often involves plating a large quantity of parts. So often, a Barrel Plating program will require running multiple batches of parts to achieve the end quantity needed. Because of this, maintaining exacting control of all plating variables becomes even more critical to ensure 100% plating coverage consistency from batch to batch.
Summit Plating’s proven track record with multiple-batch consistency assures clients they’ll receive the precise, tolerance-specified surface plating their program and/or industry demands. We also achieve these results quickly and at an affordably — making Summit Plating a preferred U.S vendor for Barrel Electroplating Loose Parts
