Dual-Coat / Triple-Coat Wire Plating
Dual-Coat and Triple-Coat Wire Plating that protects.
Dual-Coat and Triple-Coat Wire Plating at Summit provides advantages that help maintain a wire’s intended function. That’s because multi-layer electroplating administers a protective inner “barrier layer” to ensure the outer plating layer retains the performance characteristics of that metal. Without this barrier layer, the outer layer integrity and performance could be compromised by an inter-metallic interaction between that plating layer and the base wire material.
Multi-Layer Electroplating to improve performance.
By electroplating Wire with a two layers through our Dual-Coat process, performance characteristic can also be incrementally improved. These improvements can include increased electrical conductivity, retained solder-ability, strengthened corrosion and wear resistance, and more.
Our Triple-Coat electroplating on Wire adds a base plating layer, an intermediate plating layer, and a surface plating layer that collectively deliver even greater performance enhancements. Three-coats of plating can be administered to boost corrosion resistance and durability on wire intended for use in extreme environments where continual flexing, fluctuating temperatures, or exposure to moisture and chemicals is unavoidable. These boosted characteristics allow wire plated with three coats to meet the strict specifications set my demanding industries that include Aerospace, Defense, Energy, Electronics, and more.
